Sega Naomi

What was Sega NAOMI?

NAOMI stands for New Arcade Operation Machine Idea. Sega launched it in 1998 as a cheaper successor to Sega Model 3, and other publishers built on it too, so the library mixes Sega games with Capcom, SNK, Arc System Works and Treasure releases such as Marvel vs. Capcom 2, The King of Fighters Neowave, Guilty Gear XX Accent Core and Ikaruga.

How NAOMI games play on a Phantom

All 113 titles are in Arcade Gamer, the base package in every Phantom, so every cabinet plays them. Most are fighting games, shooters, sports and puzzle games made for a joystick and buttons, which is exactly the control panel.

Five NAOMI light-gun games, including The House of the Dead 2 and Confidential Mission, are on the Sega NAOMI light-gun list. Dual light guns come standard on the Final Boss and are an upgrade on most other cabinets.
